Is there any type of stair project you will not or have not done?
Not to date. At R.G. Losik Woodworking, Inc. we love to be challenged and welcome the opportunity to look at unique one-of-a-kind stairs and custom millwork projects. The more challenging, the better!
Do you provide shop drawings?
Yes, upon request. Based on the complexity and scope of the project a minimal charge may be assessed.
Do you have a showroom?
Not currently. We are working to change that in the near future. You can view a large selection of our previous work in our image gallery and on our stair and rail webpages. We are also happy to meet with customers to show them samples of our work and discuss making their vision a reality.
What types of lumber are used in manufacturing?
The most commonly requested woods are:oak, mahogany, maple, poplar, Brazilian cherry, domestic cherry and African mahogany. However, we will manufacture your stair, stair parts and custom millwork with any obtainable wood species.
Are you able to manufacture custom rail profiles, newels, balusters, etc.?
Absolutely. Upon request, we make custom rail profiles, fittings, newels and balusters. Many of pictures featured in our gallery have stair and or rail components designed and manufactured by R.G. Losik Woodworking, Inc. for that for that specific project.
What is the usual lead time for a stair to be manufactured and delivered and for rail system to be installed?
This is one of our most frequently asked questions.
Generally, straight stairs can be constructed and installed within a few weeks of executing the project contract and receipt of the initial deposit. The installation of rail follows the stair installation and is dependent upon the builder’s progress. Keep in mind that rail should be installed toward the end of the construction process.
Circular or spiral stairs generally require six weeks lead time.
What are your payment terms?
A project contract is prepared for all jobs. The contract details the work that will be preformed by R.G. Losik Woodworking, Inc. and the payment terms. Standard payment terms are:
50% deposit at the time the contract is executed,
25% upon delivery and installation of stair, and
25% upon completion of stairs and railings.
Do you also do the applied finish and railings?
Yes, upon request.
In addition to manufacturing stairs do you do other types of construction or refurbishing projects?
R.G. Losik Woodworking, Inc. will do any custom millwork needed for your project to include: wainscot, built-in-cabinets, entertainment centers, interior trim and custom bars.
How is my stair protected, after it has been installed, until the balance my project is completed?
Stairs leave the shop covered in thick black plastic, which covers all finish surfaces.
Plywood tread covers are stapled to each tread on top of plastic to allow for daily use of the stair until completion.
Do you install the framing and sheet rock under the stair after installation?
With circulars we do provide the radius wall framing under the stair if it is not "freestanding". Upon request, platform framing is also provided. Otherwise all other framing and sheetrock is arranged by the general contractor.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes.
Do you manufacture steel stairs?
Yes. We also sell wood and steel spiral stair kits with optional installation and our prices are very competitive.
What is your service area?
Southern Florida. Depending on the scope and size of the project, we will travel outside of this area.
Do you sell just parts?
